What do you want? A trophy? Anybody could have predicted this. It takes real insight to predict that they would make the Playoffs!!

I am the one who deserves a trophy.

I have a question for you. If you were starting a team would u take alexander ovechkin and why. I wouldnt take him in the top 50 to be honest. I just dont understand why people like him so much. He doesnt play defense and he is lazy. He scores alot of goals but he is also playing with one of most underrated centers in the game in backstrom. His goal total dropped ever since semin left, proving he needs good players around him to put up points.

Backstrom is probally one the top 5 play makers in the game today, maybe top 3. I have Crosby and Thornton ahead of him. But back to ovechkin

I think if he didnt have backstrom on his line he wouldnt be so great. While guys like crosby, kessel and malkin never had a linemate like backstrom. They still post better number then ovechkin.

His salary his crazy. He should be third liner and powerplay specialist. 10-12 mins a night. He wouldnt kill you and still would get his points.

While I agree with a lot of what you said, there are some things I disagree with. I'll also start by saying I AM a flyers fan, but a bigger HOCKEY fan, so I'm gonna give ya my unbiased opinion.

Agreed:
-Doesn't play d
-lazy
-backstrom is incredibly underrated as a playmaker and 2 way forward
-a lot of ovis success, not all of it, can be credited to having such a skilled playmaker

Disagree:
-Ovi not being in top 50- even if he doesn't play d, he's still one of the best pure goal scorers to ever play the game
-Crosby, Giroux, Thornton, Kreijci, Kopitar, Backstrom (for playmakers)
-as I mentioned above, some of ovis success can be attributed to playing with backstrom, but say he was on a line with riberio, brian little, b Richards, or brassard (good, not great, playmakers) I think he'd still have a lot of success just cuz his one timer is so damn good, and he's got a shot like none other
-3rd line? no way.... I don't care if he doesn't play d, he's FAR too good offensively to play on a 3rd line role...

For one kreijci and kopitar aren't in my top five. I have Crosby, Thornton, Backstrom, Getzlaf and Giroux( a little of philly bias having him 2)

-If you were going in a draft, their are so many good players i would take over him. Dman and goalies are included in this. I also think his slaray makes him less diserable and his position is the lease important. all things that need to be taken.

If take out the fact he is ovechkin. he really needs to be downgraded. If you think he can put up points playing with lesser talent let him. Imagine him playing against 3rd liners instead of Bergeon. You can have first line putting up points 2nd line will be you shutdown line. then 3rd line will have ovechkin. Him with wilson and Burakovsky would be a good third line. They will put up points but wont kill you in your defensive zone.

I don't agree with any of this. Ovechkin is clearly one of the four or five best players in the NHL. He routinely scores 50 goals I think last year he had 10 more than anyone else except Perry.

He is a great guy to build a team around - but teams need all sorts of things and think OV takes way too much heat. The guy is worth every penny they pay him.

The league is going to reward you guys with the 1st overall, and then you'll trade Yandle. You guys will have a good team in 4 years if you get OEL to stay

If you honestly think OV is top five player you obviously know nothing about hockey. For one he is not complete winger. Second he is a winger. He isnt even one of the top five wingers in the nhl neverless top five player.

Top five wingers no order
Hall
Kessel
Benn
Kane
Perry

Those are at least five wingers i would take over him. That isnt even counting centers and dman he would take over him. Scoring wingers are not that valuable.
